The FRIENDS of UT is a group of
individuals and businesses that serves
as a support organization for University
Theatre, providing members with
opportunities to connect with and offer support for student actors, dramaturges,
directors, and designers involved in University Theatre productions.
FRIENDS of UT plan and host receptions, enjoy exceptional performances,
and work to encourage broader awareness and appreciation
of the UW Department of Theatre and Drama throughout the community.
Funds raised by FRIENDS of UT provide much needed production support, including
technical enhancements such as state-of-the-art equipment
upgrades, as well as special guest artist residencies that support
the training of the students.

Friends of UT sponsored a trip to Ten Chimneys (home of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne) in October, 2010. Faculty, staff and students from the department joined Friends for a terrific day out, including a tour, lunch, and Noel Coward scenework performed by the acting students. 
Friends of UT have the opportunity to attend receptions and other spectial events, such as this post-performance reception with Olympia Dukakis in 2008. |
